1. Friday, February 03 at night start havy rain with wind. It last to Morning next day... Since were no havy rein, as far as I know... 1.1. Saturday, February 04, 11am... I notice, that basement BR sliding door was open... 1.2. Very small amount of rain water was noticed over pre-finished HW Floor Mirage, specially designed to be installed below grade, i.e. in basements over concrete clab 1.3. Pre-finished HW Floor Mirage, was installed on Bustik Best adchesive several month ego at very dry days... Concrete slab had appropriate moisture level as per manufacturer specification 1.4. During Autumn 2005 and winter 2006 I made basement temerature between 70 F and 72 F. All three house furnaces are working in automatic regime 1.5. Basement inside air is dry. For example, by these days, disite reiny weather, my home humidity meter shows not more than 20 % of air humidity by floor level 1.6. At this portion of the basement there are no water, sewer or other liquid carier... Other floor aria have no changes so far 2. At February 06, 2006 I notice, that Basement hardwood planks slightly change it's color to black, but said plank keep it's form, i.e. was the same as it's neighbors 3. I call professional floor installer... A accept his bid and we disided to start at nearest Monday 4. Monday, February 13, 2006 floor installer start remove hardwood planks with black stains 4.1. Monday, February 13, 2006. Under HW planks was water 4.2. Monday, February 13, 2006. We remove HW planks from all over affected aria, made concterte moisture level mesurement and left conrete to dry 4.3. Wednesday, February 15, 2006. Floor contractor made concrete moisture mesurement. His electronic tool result - concrete has 100% moustrure and I was advised: dehumidifier to be used 4.4. 11 am. Friday, Monday, February 17, 2006. Floor contractor made concrete moisture mesurement. Electronic tool result - concrete has 100% moustrure 4.5. 11 am. Friday, Monday, February 17, 2006. Floor contractor instaled two "Drizair-100" dehumidifiers over 2 five gallon bucket : ¹ 1 - in the BR closet and ¹ 2 - in the Game room 5. 11 am. Saturday, February 18, 2006. Dehumidifier ¹ 1 made water as 20% of bucket size, Dehumidifier ¹ 2 made no water, i.e. stays dry 6. 11 am. Sanday, February 19, 2006. Dehumidifier ¹ 1 made water as 50% of bucket size, Dehumidifier ¹ 2 made no water, i.e. stays dry 7. 09 am. Monday, February 20, 2006. Dehumidifier ¹ 1 made water as 75% of bucket size (water was dumped), Dehumidifier ¹ 2 made no water, i.e. stays dry 7. 09 am. Monday, February 20, 2006. Floor contractor made electronic moisture mesurements at several spots.... Conrete floor 97-99% wet 7. 09 am. Monday, February 20, 2006. Floor contractor made electronic moisture mesurement under stair. Conrete floor is 3-4% wet, i.e. it is dry! 7. 09 am. Monday, February 20, 2006. All measurements described were done with Farmers Insurance field representative 8. 09 am Tuesday, February 21, 2006. Dehumidifier ¹ 1 made water as 10% of bucket size, Dehumidifier ¹ 2 made no water, i.e. stays dry 9. 09 am Wednesday, Fabruary 22, 2006. Dehumidifier ¹ 1 made water as 20% of bucket size, Dehumidifier ¹ 2 made no water, i.e. stays dry 10. 09 am Wednesday, Fabruary 22, 2006. To determinate how wet is concrete slab body we used moisture test of Delmhorst Instrument Co. - Leader of moisrure test tools 10.1. In the concrete floor 2 sets of holls were made: with depth 2" and 3"; 10.2. To make mosonry neils touch sides of the drilled holles, sais neils were insulated with tape; 10.3. We hammered these neils, so they touch bottom of the holls only 10.4. And make mesurements as priscribed by Moisture toll manufacturer, i.e. by Delmhorst Instrument Co 10.5. Based on the mesurements results, Floor company criates this statement Culcium chloride test. That test wil take 72 houres Culcium chloride test gives us most accurate area! moisture level, i.e. water pounds per 1,000 square feet. Floor contractor will bring scale on site and we make calculation together Culcium chloride test will tell us, what option to choose: make local floor reparement or totaly replace existing HWF with carpet DrizAir 110 Dehumidifier Industry approved, - removes up to 54 litres of water per day corrosion resistant body, 5,500btu 200 cfm compressor 115v Dimensions 21" x 14" x 16" (h x w x d) Weight 29 kilos Basement sliding door area Starting from sliding door water by slope went along wall towards BR closet BR closet.
